Beautiful painting John, great tutorial. I have watched how you mix your paints very carefully, but I still get too much paint on my brushes, it doesn’t matter how careful I am, I seem to overload with paint.

I can tell you that it takes practice and reputation, the more you have your heart and soul into the time and space then it will come natural.
