Love this one. I think I will try it. Is Lamp Black like a very dark grey? That’s the only one I don’t have so thought I would try and mix it. Also what did you say about the water at 4:26? Are you thinning the paint?
trencher7 says:
Nevermind I finally found Lamp Black.
trencher7 says:
Thanks. How would you mix or create Lamp Black?
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
yes you can use the primary colors to mix to create dark color almost like black. I am using water to thin the paint or make it fluid. If it’s hard to flow in canvas.
Michael Pog says:
Great painting and tutorial, John. Do you use reference photos for your paintings? If you do, where do you take them, and how do you get inspired and decide what to paint?
My biggest problem is I can go for hours browsing through photos on the internet, and I can’t decide what to paint:)
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
Hello Michael.. thank you.. No I didn’t use any reference photo for landscape paintings. I only used reference if it’s an animal or human figure or some other object that i am not familiar with.
I just think of what I feel to paint and I composed it on my mind. Then I try to sketch for more visualization.
You can think of what will make you inspire. A place, an object, an animal or anything that will inspires you.

Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
you’re welcome… all noises were accidentally recorded. Some noises were not really good. Like kids shouting and other unnecessary things. That’s why I decided to clean it all on my new videos.

I only limit myself on a 1 hour video tutorial. I’m sorry… Maybe on interactive painting tutorial I can do this one.
