I thought it was outstanding. I dont care if he used a computer generated voice over, mabe the dud cant speak english, and if he mispronounced a word, so what, the whole idea was for people to learn from his technique. I certainly did. I didnt know how to pain or even draw clouds until I saw this tutorial. Hence the name “tutorial” thats why its on here to teach others how to do it and do it well. Please guys…..stop nit picking. Thank you John. I loved it.

JM I just love your paintings , your very talented and I like the way you take your time showing us and explaining. I’m new here and just started painting. My question – I’m painting the clouds but in oil, how long does my blue sky have to dry before painting the clouds ? What do you prime your canvas with, and do you let it dry before painting ? Thank you so much.
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
sorry for my late response… oil has a different method in painting clouds. you can use wet on wet technique when you paint it without waiting it to dry. I primed it with white acrylic or gesso… yes you should let it dry before painting.. welcome

Brilliant! They are the most beautiful clouds! I picked up a paintbrush for the first time 3 weeks ago – at the ripe old age of 51! For years I told myself I had no artistic talent. At last I’m able to accept less than perfection and allow myself to learn and make mistakes. Art is bringing me SO MUCH JOY! Videos like this help enormously. Thank you for your help!
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
you’re welcome Tracey… really glad that your are painting and you did it! Painting is for all. Just enjoy every moment with it.. 🙂
Seth Maskovich says:
for easier clouds,
1. paint shape of cloud in the darkest color the cloud will be.
2. paint the liter parts where they’re supposed to be im the picture
3. add highlights on the cloud
4. blend.
5. enjoy
