Owen Barnhart says:
Very nice technique and tutorial . That music though is annoying as hell.
Ron Wilkins says:
I agree….that freakin’ piano and ghost-like voices are very annoying. But, the instructions are A+.
Souzie Holmes says:
I love the video, but please lose the awful misuc!
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
Thank you so much! 🙂 I dont have any picture reference.. I practice not to use any reference so that I can be independent when it comes to painting landscapes. I will be planning to have a tutorial like proportions in subjects soon..
Souzie Holmes says:
+John, your landscapes are very interesting. Do you work from memory, or pictures? Have me made any videos showing how to draw the subjects in proportion?
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
You’re welcome.. and thank you for watching my videos
Souzie Holmes says:
+Hi John magne Lisondra, many thanks for taking the time to reply to my comment! Your work is captivating and you do not need any props to make it any better. You have helped me enormously. Thank you
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
Im sorry about that… I completely removed it on my new videos.
Lakshmi S says:

Thank you so much .:)
HS DeCarion says:
Yes. this is a beautiful tree. Simple and straight forward. thank you .
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
Yah indeed! Thank you. 🙂
John Coleman says:
There is a glare on your canvas. We don’t get to see the base color application too clearly for the leaves of the tree. The technique that’s expressed is very easy, but the glare on the canvas caused by the position of the light is a visual obstruction to the viewer’s eye. But we other experienced artists appreciate what you are doing. Have fun son!
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
Thank you so much sir… its just a product of poor lighting from a poor studio. I will set a good lighting next time. 🙂
Art George says:
do u use reference
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
No sir… no reference at all
Art George says:

Enchanting, but please consider the repeating tune in the background, it becomes irritating and interferes with your wonderful skills

I am a huge fan of your painting, and I had just picked up a brush about two months ago. I really would like to paint realistically, and this tutorial really gave me a good foundation. Please continue posting more tutorial like this. Although you did do a tutorial on “afternoon by lake,” I felt like this tutorial was a lot more helpful 🙂
Art of John Magne Lisondra says:
lilazn239 Thank you so much for giving me an idea on what kind of video im going to post. I will create more tutorials like this in the future… 🙂
